Lindsay Fixmer

Ladies, this one’s for you…

OK not quite. We can all share in the exciting news that the Smuggs Ice Bash is pleased to have Lindsay Fixmer as a guest guide and presenter at this years Ice Bash.

Lindsay has a long background in climbing and is excited to bring her passion to Vermont. She will be giving a presentation Saturday night on Women in the Ice Climbing and Guiding Realm with a unique twist. Make sure you attend!

Here’s a bit more about Lindsay:

Since her initiation into technical rock climbing 14 years ago, Lindsay pursues mountainous terrain with a love of sharing amazing climbing endeavors with others. From 2000 to 2008, Lindsay worked in the indoor climbing industry managing facilities, instructing and coaching youth competitive teams, honing a knack for teaching climbing movement. In 2007, with a background in rock, ice and alpine climbing, Lindsay began her guiding career across the US and abroad in renowned areas including the High Sierra, Rockies, Tetons, southeast sandstone and granite, the White Mountains of the NE and Argentina. Her personal climbing adventures have taken her to Mexico, Canada, and throughout Southeast Asia.

Lindsay currently resides in Aspen, CO where she splits her time climbing and guiding throughout western CO, Red Rocks and Bishop, CA. Lindsay is an AMGA Certified Rock Guide, an AMGA Climbing Wall Instructor Provider Trainer, a Wilderness First Responder, and has completed AAIRE Level I and II Avalanche Programs.

With a fifth winter season guiding and playing on the ice in New Hampshire in conjunction with the Mt Washington Ice Fest, this year Lindsay is psyched to join the Smugglers Notch Ice Bash! Friday night Lindsay will be giving a slideshow on women in the ice climbing and guiding realm with a unique, artistic twist. She looks forward to meeting new ice climbers and enjoying Vermont’s outstanding ice!

We are excited to have Lindsay here with us this year. So let’s give her a warm welcome. Who knows, maybe she’ll enter Friday Night’s Dry-tool Competition and give reigning champ, Andrea Charest, a run for her money!!!
