I’ve always said that there are rock climbers who climb ice in the off season, and then there are ice climbers who, in the off season, rock climb. I would certainly group myself in the latter category!
I first discovered ice climbing over a dozen years ago and have made it a point to never miss a winter in New England since! The 2020 Ice Bash well be my first time taking part in the event and I could not be more excited to be part of the fun! I have spent the last 9 years guiding between the North East and the Tetons in Wyoming during the summer months. My down time is spent searching for obscure ice routes well off the beaten path and lots of time on the snowmobile climbing remote ice in Northern Quebec. I am really looking forward to sharing my passion for ice climbing with new and seasoned climbers alike at the Ice Bash! Vermont and Smuggs in particular have been the scene of many memorable days climbing and I am stoked to share stories from near and far!
